Arongatahi means to unite or come together as one, such an integral part of being a team and being a winning team. Our logo with the triple twist or pikorua represents the connection or the relationship we form as a team (whanau) that extends beyond the playing field and with the teams we play against.
Formed in 2005 by Patrina Chapman to grow rugby for Maori women, the team has now evolved into a team for all young girls and women's to develop into seven's and/or XV's players to elite level.
Our vision is to be the best women's club seven’s team in the Pacific.
Seven’s rugby provides a good foundation in skills, fitness and disciplines required for all rugby codes e.g. rugby union, rugby league, touch rugby, tag. The introduction of seven’s into the 2016 & 2020 Olympics has generated an overwhelming interest from young girls and women. Our hearts desire is to see our athletes given an opportunity to achieve elite level status of which many have.
Whanau (family) involvement is important to us and we embrace their participation. Whether it is the kids running the water bottles on during breaks or our partners being tackle bags for us during training. Their involvement and support is appreciated and lifts player performance. Our environment during public appearance especially, training's and competitions is alcohol, smoke and drug free
